A good fit(ness)

Not doing quite so well this week on the walking... but it was, in many respects, the Week From Hell, and my stamina was suffering. Next week looks more reasonable, at least from this distance.

Since last Friday:

300 crunches (half-situps)
480 reverse crunches
4 min total of abdominal bridge
3 miles walked at about 4mph

The ab work isn't getting easier, per se, but it's getting smoother. I find myself settling into a groove after the first couple. That doesn't mean my abs don't still burn after the first 15 crunches, but it is progress.

I'm also feeling a little firmer in the middle when I'm walking around. Very nice.

Fi(t)nessing

This week, since last Friday:

375 crunches (half-situps)
300 reverse crunches
5 min total of abdominal bridge
6 miles walked at about 4mph (and I started taking the stairs at the end!)

I tend to skip the occasional day of ab work, and I think that's actually a good idea... so I'll stop trying to do them every day and just make sure that I don't miss two days in a row. It makes the most sense to post totals by week, though.

Starting out

3 sets of 20 crunches
3 sets of 20 reverse crunches (I felt that)
10 minutes cardio

I'm starting out slow, particularly on the cardio... but I wasn't expecting to manage three full sets of reverse crunches. Yay me!

Me too.

I looked in the mirror yesterday morning and was trying to figure out what was different when one of [info]cadhla's posts rang in my head: she had rediscovered her collarbones. Sure enough, I've lost mine.

Okay, that means that not all the weight has been muscle (that is, oddly, a bit of a relief). Time to do something about that, and maybe I can tone up a bit too. So I'm jumping on the fitness bandwagon with everyone else. )

So that's my plan... I'll be posting at least occasionally to LJ to keep myself honest. We'll see whether I can take a little of the padding off and increase my stamina -- I've been noticing that I get tired faster than I used to.
