The Mono

It's pretty warm out there. I'd say it feels like the end of April already, if the sun were a bit more fierce. As it is it's beautiful.

I went to ( lunch. ) I have more time today than usual, as App of Comp lecture is done, so I don't have to be anywhere until 3:10. Given that I haven't had time to post or catch up on lily for a couple days, I'll need it. :)

Consonance was ( good. )

On a more sober note, I mentioned to Dr. J that one of my favorite artists didn't seem to be in evidence; I hadn't seen Blake Hodgetts all weekend. ( Then Dr. J told me why. )

Yesterday was spent wrestling with Access to get an assignment done, and I got done just in time to miss the 7:55 train. It meant I had a leisurely dinner before getting on the 9:35, but I got home much later than I wanted to, and didn't have the chance to study biochem as I really need to. Sigh. This whole week is like that...

Tomorrow I think I'll be well enough to go to the Exploratorium. I need to catch Nick so that I can surprise him with that -- he still thinks I'll be at school. :)

I didn't sing at all this weekend; I barely even listened to much filk. The con was a third its normal size, which must have taken it down into the double digits... There were a lot of people I expected to see, and didn't. So for many, myself included, it became a kind of relax-a-con. I spent a lot of time with Jim Dennis, whom I don't get to see often; he was feeling antisocial, I was feeling antisocial, and so we went off and were antisocial together. It worked.

The one concert I absolutely went out of my way to catch (programming was very, very light this year) was, of course, Rand and Adam: ( Ookla the Mok. )

If you get the chance, hit their site, have a listen (I think they still have samples of their music up, or you can ask me to rip you a couple of songs) and see if you like what you hear. They're great guys, all of them.

Well, I'm here. Several familiar faces right off the bat, and as I was registering I caught the very familiar voice of Rand Bellavia singing "California". It's a good start.

It's quiet, though. After getting my badge I hopped across the freeway to Banana Leaf, had lunch, then came back and settled in the Internet Lounge. The bandwidth is... well... width is not really the applicable term. Still, it's enough to do Lily and crawl around LJ, and ICQ is up. So I do have some fix. :)

Oh... ( about the food. )

There's a concert in almost an hour that I may check out, and there's doubtless some open filk going on, so I think I'll go wander. I'll check in again a bit later.
